Our investment management team comprises six advisors, senior advisors and investment managers with expertise in several industry sectors and emerging market investments.

All our investment managers and advisors are experienced and highly analytical. They?re also entrepreneurial and creative in their approach. It means they see opportunities where others don?t, and can successfully unlock value.

Karl F?ssler ? Chairman, Plena Group

Karl F?ssler has worked with us for over 15 years as a senior advisor for tax, investment opportunities, networking and structural related issues.

His extensive network and expertise enables us to find workable and efficient solutions to our group and financing structures, wherever we operate. Karl was previously finance minister in one of Switzerland?s most prestigious Cantons.

Marc Lamesch ? Advisor, Plena Group

Marc Lamesch is one of the most esteemed experts in international accounting in Luxembourg and with his network finds optimal structural solutions.

Marc is a long serving board member in Plena Group, and his contribution to its growth continues to be highly valuable.

Sami Mathlouthi ? Investment Advisor, MENA and Africa region

Sami Mathlouthi joined us in 2011 from Majid Al Futtaim Group, Dubai/Tunisia where he was their financial manager.

His investment experience in the MENA region, international accounting standards and financial due diligence, has enabled him to develop a strong network in the MENA. As an investment manager he is responsible for developing current operations as well as finding new opportunities in the MENA and Africa region. He holds an ACCA in accounting.

Mattias Sjoborg ? Senior Advisor, Investments

Mattias Sjoborg began his career at RMC plc where he led teams in the restructuring of group operations.

He joined Plena Group in 2001, and has led teams through due diligence, negotiation and the restructuring of a large Eastern European privatisation. Mattias has nearly 15 years? investment experience in origination, due diligence and structuring cross border transactions related to privately held companies and privatisations, in predominantly emerging markets. He has an MBA degree from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland.

Christer Sundstrom ? Senior Advisor, Investment Companies

Christer Sundstrom joined Plena Group in 2008.

He was previously CEO of Nordkalk (third largest lime product producer in the world) and part of the lead team of the leveraged buyout of Nordkalk where he created a return for the shareholder in excess of 50% IRR. Today, using his experience and network, Christer is a vital part of our vision to build a strong construction material/mineral group.
